Car Theory
Before you can do practical you have to pass your theory exam. You can order the necessary theory books at your instructor.
Research has shown that the probability of success for your theory is higher if you've followed theory lessons. If you are following lessons at our driving school, you have the option to attend a theory evening. During this theory evening we assume that you have already learned as much as possible.
Your instructor is going with you through the problem area and clarify the difficult situations. You have the opportunity to ask questions and together with other students to solve. This comes in handy during your theory exam.

The theory exam for the car consists since March 1, 2009 of three parts.
- A component on danger recognition (25 questions);
- A component on traffic rules (30 questions);
- A component on traffic insight (10 questions).

Danger recognition
The part danger recognition is new. And as of March 1, 2009 counts for the outcome of your theory test. The danger recognition questions will be answered by indicating what you would do in this situation:
- To brake (which is saying to stiff slow down or even stop);
- gas release (which is saying extra alert and prepared for a different behavioral choice);
- or nothing (which is saying just keep on driving with the same speed).
For each question you have 8 seconds time to reply. That seems short, but in the real traffic is often much faster you decide what you are doing!
Traffic rules
Of course you have to know what the rules are to understand the traffic signs and other signals. Your knowledge of traffic rules is reviewed in this section.
Traffic insight
For questions about traffic insight it is not so much about what the law is settled, but especially in a given situation what is the sensible and safe thing to do.

When passed?
The theory test consists of yes / no questions, multiple choice questions, open questions, how would you act in a particular traffic situation (with threat recognition).
The questions asked by images of traffic situations on large TV monitors. You can also read it from there. You answer the questions with pushbuttons in the table.
You pass the theory exam if:
- You have 12 questions correctly (out of 25) of the component danger recognition;
- You have 35 questions correctly (out of 40) of the components traffic rules and traffic insight.
So you need for both parts at least sufficient to pass your theory exam. It is important to prepare you on all components properly.
Direct a certificate
The exam takes about three quarters of an hour, including the notes before the exam. Then the computer fixes in about fifteen minutes the results. If you succeed, you get the theory certificate right away. If you drop, you get a release form with each exam topic that you gave the wrong answer, too late, or not answered not at all. In addition, a printed list of codes representing the exam topics (for instance 'traffic signs', 'catching up' or 'have right rules'). So you know for the next exam where to study further on. Your driving school can inform you extensively about these topics.

Theory motor:
Even though you are in possession of your car license (B), you still have to get your theory. With your instructor you can get the theory books for this ordered.
Do you not have a driving license (B) you must first pass your theory exam before you may start the motor driving lessons.
Are you in possession of a driving license (B) then you may already do your exam special operations. You must have passed your theory exam in order to take part in the examination of movement participation.
Your theory certificate remains valid for 1 years.

You may enter a reservation for the theory exam passenger, motor or moped.
For the car you can for an additional cost in a number of examination centers also book your theory exam in English or Turkish.
An individual theory exam in Dutch or an individual theory exam in another language can be booked by your driving school. Which assesses whether you do qualify, based on the criteria of the CBR. For an individual exam, you pay a surcharge to the CBR.
Payment
You must make the reservation and directly pay through iDeal. This happens when your internet banking at ABN AMRO, ING, Fortis, Rabobank and SNS Bank. If you cannot pay with iDEAL, go to a driving school to book the theory exam.
Your reservation is free to move to one week before the exam date. Within one week, the reservation, where the opportunities are, only can be placed earlier. Cancellations cannot. Refunds can only under certain conditions.
