Driving anxiety from fear of failure:
Driving anxiety can be both positive and negative. With positive fear of failure one performs extra well when they are stressed. While with negative fear of failure stress level is too high to even be able to perform. Furthermore you can divide fear of failure into 3 groups:
- Cognitive: because one is too nervous they cannot go back to the knowledge and skills that they have acquired;
- Social: what will others think?
- Motor: blocking of practical skills.
Unfortunately, fear of failure and perfectionism go hand in hand. This group wants to drive as it should and expects that others also keep themselves to the (traffic) rules. If it does not happen and they cannot run as it should, does it make insecure and anxious and may lead to driving anxiety.
